Red Ackie Monitor Male – 2 Years Old Monitor Lizard

Reptile Details

Description

For sale: approximately 2,5 year-old male red Ackie monitor (Varanus acanthurus). He is a beautiful red-coloured male with a shy temperament. He can be nervous when being picked up, but he has never bitten me. With patience and consistent interaction, there is potential to build his confidence further. Due to time changes in schedule I cannot give him enough love as deserved, and I’m afraid he will become wild. I’m looking for an experienced keeper who can provide him with a suitable enclosure and continue working with him. Terrarium requirements I will only sell him to someone who already has a suitable enclosure fully set up and ready for him. Minimum enclosure size: 150 × 75 × 90 cm (L × D × H), with a larger enclosure preferred. The enclosure must provide: Deep substrate for digging and burrowing, ideally 30–45 cm or more. A properly heated basking area and a cooler temperature gradient. Appropriate UVB lighting. Multiple hides and secure burrowing areas. Rocks, branches and enrichment for natural behaviours. Proper ventilation and secure construction. Please include photos and dimensions of your enclosure when enquiring. I may ask additional questions about your experience keeping monitor lizards to ensure a suitable match. Price: €400 ( better terrarium = lower price) Please only contact me if you are genuinely interested and can meet his housing requirements. I can provide more photos and videos, he is an absolutely amazing and smart animal, which deserves the best home possible. Note that he is shy, and will take time to open up to you but he is definitely curious and willing to work with you. He is a BIG boy.
